Venesta Plywood Company (1908 - )
In 1908, Luterma, an Estonian plywood furniture company, established a sister company in London, the Venesta Plywood Company. 'Venesta' is a combination of the words 'veneer', which was the type of wood used for the furniture, and 'Estonia', where the wood was imported from. Offices were soon opened in various countries in Europe, including Germany, Sweden, France and Italy. The Venesta Plywood Company became well-known for its practical and functional furniture.
